In the name of our Creator the most high the most merciful. Do not sit idle for indeed death is seeking you". Al Hassan Al basree(ra)
It feels like yesterday we started Ramadan and it has rolled into its most important third. According to a hadith of our beloved Prophet(saw), among the signs of the Last
What is this loss?
We get so busy with our lives that many struggle to feed their soul with the right amount (and type) of spirituality, and far too many has abandoned the straight path."Except those who believe(in islamic monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth and recommend one another to patience"Quran 103 v 3
Time is against everybody, here Allah admonishes us in clear terms who would be considered to have spent their time well. And on the Day when He shall gather (resurrect) them together, (it will be) as if they had not stayed (in the life of this world and graves, etc) but an hour of a day.” [Quran 10:45]
Mu’aath bin Jabal related that the Prophet(saw) said: “The slave will not go forward on the Day of Judgment until he is asked four questions: about his age and how he spent it, about his youth and how he used it, about his wealth and how he acquired it and spent it, and about his knowledge and what he did with it.”
How we spend our time is a question we should ask ourselves constantly. Our time is a precious gift that should be highly valued, and should spent more carefully than we spend money. Whatever it is we are doing, for this world or the next, let it be worth our time, because we can never get that time back.
"I'd close with this hadith of our noble Prophet(saw); There are two favors (or bounties) of Allaah’s bounties, and in them many people are cheated (or deceived): health and free time"
May Allah(swt) make our good deeds far outweigh the bad.
