REFLECTION

Imam Ibn al-Qayim said: If Allah wants well for a slave, He strips away from his heart the ability to see his own good deeds and speaking about them with his tongue, and preoccupies him with seeing his own sin, and it continues to remain in front of his eyes until he enters Jannah.

There is nothing on the face of the earth that is more in need of being imprisoned for a lengthy period of time than the tongue.

Abdullah Ibn Masood radiAllahu Anhu

No matter what else you lose, never lose Allah. Allah can replace everything but nothing can replace Allah.

Abdullah ibn Masooud said: There isn’t any true relaxation for the believers besides the meeting of Allah.

If you are constantly comparing your spouse to the idealised version that resides in your imagination, you will be unable to appreciate the less-than-perfect spouse who lives, loves and laughs with your less-than-perfect self. Life is not a fairytale. Say ‘Alhamdulillah’ and love the one you’re with.

When you’re going through something hard and you start wondering where Allah is, just remember, the Teacher is always quiet during a test.

When someone offends me, I think it’s a gift from Allah (God). He (Allah) is teaching me humility.
- Ibn Taymiyyah

Keep your thoughts cleaner than pure water. As water drops make a river, thoughts make character and faith.
- Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib

The Messenger of Allah came to a circle – meaning of his Companions – and said, “What has made you sit together?” They said, “We sat to pray to Allah and to praise Him for guiding us to His religion, and for blessing us with you.” He said, “By Allah, nothing else made you sit together?” They said, “By Allah nothing else made us sit together!” He said, “Know that I did not make you swear on this because I doubted you, but because Gabriel came to me and informed me that Allah (Azza wa Jall) is proudly showing you off to the angels!”

If destinies were presented to man, he would choose the one that Allah has already chosen for him.
- Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal

One day a poor man brought a bunch of grapes to the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a gift.

He ate one, two, three and then the whole bunch of grapes by himself. He did not offer grapes to anyone present. The poor man who brought those grapes was very pleased anny faces and that would have hurt the feelings of that poor and left.

One of the companions asked, “O prophet of Allah ! How come you ate all the grapes by yourself and did not offer to any one of us present?"

The Prophet smiled and said, “I ate all the grapes by myself because the grapes were sour. If I would have offered you, you might have made fuman. I thought to myself that it’s better that I eat all of them cheerfully"

Rabee’ Ibn Anas:
"A sign (of a person) having love for Allah is his increase in his remembrance of Him (Allah), for verily you do not love something except that you increase remembrance of that (thing)"

Prophet (pbuh) said: “Souls are like crowds which gather together. The ones who met before get along well. The ones who did not meet before, cannot get along very well and separate.” Ever get that moment where when you meet someone for the first time, and you suddenly just click? As if you knew or met each other before? This hadith clearly states that before we were born, our souls were already created. And we were able to talk and get along in a place, long before we were born. From Allah we come, and to Allah we shall return.

“She believed in me when no one else did; she accepted Islam when people rejected me; and she helped and comforted me when there was no one else to lend me a helping hand.”
- What prophet Muhammad said about Khadija ( RA )

He loved her so much that even after her death, he kept honoring and mentioning her often that Aisha felt jealous that once she mentioned in front of him that Khadija was an old woman and Allah had compensated him with a younger wife meaning herself. This caused him to be very angry and that is when he replied to her and said the previous words.

"You fast. Your body might be starving, yet your heart would be smiling, if only you knew how lucky you are."
- Tariq Ramadan

Once, a young man came to the prophet SAW crying, while telling him ’ I have kissed a girl and she’s not my wife’

The prophet SAW replied: ” Did you pray Al-Asr with us?”

The man replied with yes, then the prophet places his hand over the young man’s heart and told him in the most affectionate way ’ then why are you crying, the bad deeds are replaced by good deeds ( aka your praying has made the bad deeds you committed to be wiped away ) إن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات

Look at the mercifulness, look at how he treated him, nowadays, if we see someone committing something wrong, we go pointing fingers as if we’re saints

I wish we hang this story over every masjid, so that the sheikhs would be reminded of the tone the prophet SAW used when he used to address people

I wish we attain just 1% of the mercy and love he SAW had for his people.

Perhaps a great deed is belittled by an intention. And perhaps a small deed, by a sincere intention, is made great.
- Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak

“My sin burdened me heavily. But when I measured it against Your Grace, O Lord, Your forgiveness came out greater.”
- Imam Shafi'e

Imam Ibn al-Qayim said:

Had Allah lifted the veil for His slave and shown him how He handles his affairs for him, and how Allah is more keen for the benefit of the slave than His own self, his heart would have melted out of the love for Allah and would have been torn to pieces out of thankfulness to Allah. Therefore if the pains of this world tire you do not grieve. For it may be that Allah wishes to hear your voice by way of dua. So pour out your desires in prostration and forget about it and know, that verily Allah does not forget it

Umar Ibn Al Khattab (R.A) said:
"Invite people to Islam even without words.” They asked: How? Umar (R.A) replied: “With your Manners."
